Get Lit! Festival Event Ideas
Are you an author or group looking to be featured at Get Lit! Festival in 2019? Do you have an idea for an event that you would like to be part of? You’re in luck! You can submit here to be part of next year’s festival, which will take place April 15th-21st, 2019.
The Get Lit! Festival features authors and groups (small presses, writing groups, clubs, etc.) for readings, writing workshops, panel discussions, poetry slams, book launches, and other events throughout the festival week. Interested writers and groups should submit a CV (if applicable) including contact information, web address, list of publications by genre, prizes and awards, and other relevant experience. We also request a digital ARC of your work or a PDF sample (if applicable), along with a brief cover letter. If you are interested in being part of a panel discussion, it is best to offer suggestions for other (local or national) writers you believe would be a good fit for the topic. The more information you can give us in your submission the better!
If you are interested in leading a writing workshop during the festival, we request short descriptions of possible workshops you are qualified to lead.
We also accept submissions from vendors/artists/presses, etc. who would like to be part of our Saturday book fair next year. Please simply indicate this in your cover letter, and let us know how much space you would require, and if your table/booth would feature any hands on activities. The bookfair will take place on Saturday, April 20th, 2019.
Submissions close October 1, 2018.
***Please note that while many of our authors and events are chosen from this “slush” pile, we do also personally invite many of our headlining authors each year. Also, as a non-profit program we do our best to offer compensation to our authors for their time and talent, but we are unable to pay all writers for their participation.***
