Katherine Pryor is a children’s author and good food advocate in Seattle, Washington. She has a MA in Environment & Community, with a focus in Local & Sustainable Food Systems, from Antioch University Seattle, and a BA in Media from Northern Arizona University. She was the co-founder of South Park Fresh Starts, a program that grows organic vegetable plant starts for food bank clients, and has worked on food issues for Food & Water Watch, Washington Toxics Coalition, Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Health Care Without Harm. Sylvia’s Spinach, which tells the story about the joys of growing one’s own food and trying something new, is her first children’s book. Her second, Zora’s Zucchini, was published in August of this year.
