Shannon Cram is a writer and scholar living in the foothills of the Cascades. Her work has appeared in Fugue, Environmental Humanities, Public Culture, Environment and Planning D: Society and Space, and elsewhere. Shannon’s current book project, Exposure Scenario: Nuclear Life and the Politics of Impossibility, is based on more than a decade of research at Washington’s Hanford Nuclear Reservation. Exposure Scenario weaves personal essay and critical ethnography together to examine the embodied uncertainties and structural impossibilities integral to nuclear waste management. Shannon is an assistant professor of interdisciplinary arts and sciences at the University of Washington Bothell where she teaches classes about environmental humanities and the politics of science and technology.
